Statutes and by-laws of the Association communautaire francophone de Saint-Jean.

1. Corporate name This non-profit association is known as "L'Association communautaire francophone de Saint-Jean", hereinafter referred to as the Association, by virtue of the letters patent issued by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador on November 4, 2003.

3. Language of use The language of use of the Association is French: a. all meetings and official assemblies of the Association are held in French; b. members of the Board of Directors must participate in discussions in French; and c. all official acts of the Association are produced in French.

4. Mission The Association's mission is to inspire and support the development and action of the Francophone community in the Saint-Jean region, in particular through the Centre scolaire et communautaire des Grands-Vents.

5. Vision A thriving Francophone community, united in all its diversity, open and radiant with the Saint John area.

6. Objects The objects of the Association are to: a. plan, administer and coordinate the overall development of the Francophone community of Saint John and its surroundings; b. represent and promote the Francophone community of the Saint John region; c. manage the physical facilities and equipment necessary for the implementation of the objects described in paragraphs a) and b); and d. administer the grants and funds received from various sources, including revenues generated by the rental and use of the facilities and other revenues related to the general operation of the organization and programming.

7. Dissolution It is expressly agreed that in the event of dissolution of the Association by a resolution passed by two-thirds of the members at a general meeting, all assets remaining after payment of debts shall be allocated first to the successor organization and then to organizations in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador that have a charitable mandate or serve the community.
