Artists' workshop PDF Print E-mail

fdv2009_ateliers On October 13 and 14, an expert from the Regroupement des centres d'artistes autogérés du Québec will give a free workshop titled «Faire carrière en arts visuels : enjeux, mythes et réalités». This workshop aims to better equip local artists to present their work, notably by addressing the professional isolation that comes from living outside of large urban centres and by exploring the networks open to those working in French in Canadaier et comment s'inscrire seront disponibles dans les prochains jours.

We also hope to prepare an exhibition which will highlight the works of artists who participate in the workshop and which will be open to the public during the Festival du Vent.

The Festival du Vent 2009 will take place from October 13th to 18th. The Francophone Association invites Immersion and ICF classes from the St. John's region to visit the Centre des Grands-Vent on Thursday October 15th and Friday October 16th school workshops. Three visits are scheduled per day, with each one lasting two hours:

  • 9-11 a.m.

  • 10 a.m.-noon or 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • noon-2 p.m.

Individual groups should have a maximum of 30 students but we can accommodate up to three groups at a time.

 

Each group will take part in two activities:

  • screening of French-language short films drawn from the collections of the Nickel Independent Film Festival

  • participation in one of several workshops dealing with cinema, visual arts, music, creative writing, franco-Newfoundland heritage or another subject

 

Workshops will be chosen in consultation with teachers and according to the students' ages and the class's interests. Additional information on films and workshops will be provided at least three weeks before your visit, to allow for in-class preparation.

 

The cost will be $6 per student.
